This was the piece I ended up making for the Young at Art exhibit for the Owensboro Museum of Fine Arts. The Apollo High School Art Club was asked to make some pictures for the exhibit, with a heart somehow hidden into the image. Mine's a little more than obvious But I wanted to stay relatively simple and rely mostly on the shapes rather than attempt to toss a lot of detail into it. I really love how it came out so soft, just the way I wanted it to look. This picture was made to show the passion of love, as I believed the exhibit was to express as a whole. Perhaps I was wrong. But at least it has meaning. I'm proud of it. Hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day.
i really like how this came out zach...its so peaceful and loving...i love how "hidden" that heart is ...what did you use to color it? was it like pastels or chalk or what?...i like how you used tone to show different shadows and things..i could never do that xD

Actually it was pastels and chalk. I used the color scheme for more than just the Valentine's Day theme, though. I often associate these colors with those passionate, sensual moments, and so I went with it. Pastels and chalk were very effective for setting the mood :3 Thanks for commenting.

'Cuz I need to watch things die
From a distance
Vicariously, I live
While the whole world dies
You all need it too
Don't lie
