On February 9, 2006, Ryan Armand introduced the world to a strange and imaginative little girl by the name of minus. The girl is a social outcast by her classmates, and everyone picks on her or leaves her out of any activities they may take part in. However, minus always makes her opinion known, whether they like it or not. With a wave of the awkward little tendril of hair on her head, her imagination comes to life and she is able to do whatever she wants.
minus has the ability to bring to life everything from sandwich necessities to chalk drawings, and can even shapeshift into various animals including birds, elephants, and even aliens. She can even manipulate her surroundings to suit her, and this includes even the city's inhabitants. While this does indeed set her apart from the others, minus provides an excellent moral: anything can be done if you just put your mind to it. She proves this in one incredible strip in which the world is endangered by a meteor that will destroy all life on Earth (probably), and she confidently stands on a high clifftop awaiting it, holding a baseball bat and ready to knock it out of the park. I've loved this character ever since comic #1. Originally advertised on dA, she was the first character of Ryan's that I ever met. I saw her story through and watched her grow, and I've enjoyed every bit of it so far. It can only get better. This isn't the first time I've drawn fanart for Ryan; remember my Let's Get It Together tribute that I made back in '06? Yes, this is the very same author and artist. Making two large fanarts such as this in just a year's time? That's saying something. I highly recommend that you visit Ryan's page, both on dA and off. His style rarely describes a plot and must lead you through the story for you to understand it. I find this method to be much more realistic and immersive, which makes the experience quite enjoyable. I had a lot of fun working on this. I hope that you can all enjoy it, too. minus. and all characters © You can read minus. alongside Ryan's other works here. |

All he wanted was a world where his sister could live in peace.
Now he's fighting against the very thing he wanted to protect.
He has one choice to fix everything that's gone wrong.
And that is to pay the ultimate price.
